Build a Bird for FAMILIES
Sunday 17 July, 2-5pm
Tutor: Kate Johnston
Exploring some of the strange rituals and behaviours of North Norfolk coast’s native and migrant birds, participants will enjoy using a host of natural, found, recycled and foraged materials to build a bird and weave its nest. Every bird will have a story to tell.…
All materials will be provided. Suitable for ages 6+ years if accompanied by an adult.

Capturing Landscape: Experimental Watercolours for OVER 60s - Now fully booked
Tuesday 26 July, 10.30am-3pm
Tutor: Caroline Lain
Inspired by the poetic surroundings of Cley and the works of landscape greats (eg Rae, Turner, Constable, Blackadder, Virtue) participants will be guided through taking a more experimental approach to the beauty of working with water-based paints.
Please bring brushes and your preferred water-based paints, gouache or inks and sketching materials. Some watercolour paper will be provided but extra will be charged on the day and payable to the workshop leader.

Slow Photo: Pinhole Photography for ADULTS
Saturday 30 July, 10am-4pm
Tutors: Kate Munro & Adam Shawyer
Participants will build their own pinhole cameras from recycled materials and everyday objects and use them to capture unique perspectives of the local landscape and hedgerows. We will transform the village hall stage into a darkroom and bring these ethereal images to life.
A surcharge of £5 per person will be payable on the day to the workshop leaders for the photographic paper.
Charcoal-making for ADULTS
Sunday 31 July, 10am-4pm
Tutor: Louise Walker
Participants will make charcoal from willow, ash, hazel and vine, and use this in its raw form and as a pigment in tempera paint to make sketches at the Cley16 exhibition and from still life.
All equipment and materials will be provided.
